here are the individual descriptions of each set. I hope this helps everything make a bit more sense

In Jennifer’s Set, I decided to showcase her love of China. To do this I used the koi fish as well as the characters “Zhong Guo” which stands for China. Her flaw was caring too much about other people’s opinions. After learning her flaw I constructed the bracelet with mouths and ears to show the transfer of information. I also tied in the Chinese symbol for “happiness” not only to anchor it in with the other two pieces but also to symbolize a hidden false sense of happiness she was feeling in fulfilling others opinions on what she should be doing.

In Amanda’s Set, I decided to showcase her sense of style. As a beautician, style is an important part of her life. She enjoys wearing large, dark, and bejeweled pieces, especially crosses. Her flaw is that she is a hypochondriac. I constructed a modified poison ring so it’s actually a pillbox ring. This way, she can keep her pills with her wherever she goes.

In Meg’s Set, I decided to showcase her love of Egypt. She studied anthropology through college with the hopes of one day getting into archeology. I modified the classic symbol of Enubis’s eye by making it look more like her own eye. I also did some research and made a set of earrings with her name in hieroglyphics. Her flaw is that she thinks she is too submissive to the point where it is easy for people to take advantage of her. I made a choker/collar to symbolize this controlling and dominated feeling she gets from other people.

In Lauren’s Set, my own set, I decided to showcase my journey to who I am now. I created a pendant with an enameled disk that goes inside of it. The images within the enamel symbolize all of the walls and hardships others face as they try to get to know our true selves. I know I have many defenses against the world, which is symbolized by the thorns around the roses. My flaw is that I see no good qualities about myself. I decided to show this by designing a ring that looks like a vine with bowl-like cups attached to it. The empty cups symbolize the good qualities I see in others that I don’t posses myself while the vine is there feeding off of my own insecurities to the point where I believe these ideas.
